On A Starry Moonlit Night

...Lakside’s Real Love starts to play. She’s a few feet from me. Our eyes meet. She closes in for an embrace as if she knew that’s exactly what I wanted her to do.

She smiles. Asks me did I play that for her. I did, I say. Will you marry me, I ask.

She gasps for air and smiles brighter. Her eyes get watery. I pull her closer. She says YES 3 times. I wouldn’t dare wipe that tear of joy away. I tell her I don’t have the ring yet.

She says, Oh, OK. I giggle. Said I was just playing. It’s the one she pointed out some time ago. Upgraded. Stunning. Seeing that she was about to faint, I prop her up holding her even closer.

As in the lyrics of Marques Houston’s  Everything, "…I can tell when we kiss, when we touch, when we’re making sweet love… we know this thing is forever..."
